Are some people's pets messengers from another dimension? Often I've had the feeling about a cat or dog that chose to live with me that there was a spirit connection. Did they represent a human soul? Did they bring back a message of another pet I lost? It cannot be proven, but intuition for me beats all logic.

Once a dog adopted me, stepping between me and the dog I was walking He was a wild one. A free spirit. He chose to be with me. I had no mind of taking in another dog. But he wouldn't be refused. Others in the neighborhood I learned had attempted to adopt him, this big, fuzzy adorable pup, not seeming to belong anywhere, but he would not stay, broke free from any enclosure. I came to delight in his company. Along with the dog I already had, he became part of my family. Until I quit that family and went to live in another province, leaving all pets behind. Within one year, the dog that had adopted me, disappeared as mysteriously as he had come.

After several years I came back to my old province. Chose another city to settle in. One day looking from my window, I saw a man across the street walking a dog on a leash. The dog looked over and met my eyes. I felt a shiver. He resembled the disappeared one. Trembling I ran to the front door, opened it and searched the street with my eyes. The street was empty.
