Toronto
Launch of Dead Girl Diaries
I
had the honour of sharing the celebration with Michael Fraser, a
gifted Toronto poet whose collection, The Serenity of Stone,
was also being launched. BookLand Press hosted the event at the
Supermarket Bar in Kensington Market, a perfect setting for
literary types. The place was "hopping!" |

|
 |
A
highlight of the evening was the attendance of Commonwealth
Prize Award Winner, Austin Clarke, who wrote the forward to
Michael's book. |
|
|
I
was delighted by family who braved a cold December night and sparse
parking to attend the launch - my cousin Carol and her husband Evert -
and my brother Michael and nephew Art who drove four hours from
Eastern Ontario. |
|
 |
|
|
And
then my "Dove Tale" writer friends, Veronica and
Dianne, who surprised me by driving from Kitchener. |

|
Jasmine,
the President of the Writers and Editors Network and BookLand
Press author, also dropped by.

Several
members of the surrounding branches of the Canadian Authors
Association came out, and are represented here by Peterborough
writers, Claire and Lloyd. The others eluded the camera!
And of course, my husband Bob, who got us home safely after the launch
through a sudden and fierce snowstorm - pictured here with my brother
Mike and nephew Art.
